Improvements driven by technology changes can render obsolescence, i.e. the life expectancy of the systems can be over before they wear out. Improvements in controls equipment will see a dramatic improvement in building function and energy efficiency.

Plant efficiency could be improved as are comfort levels in buildings. Life expectancy is also improved and building staff will have higher comfort level with temperature fluctuations across a building reduced and potentially improved work efficiency.
